Kalamazoo Attainable Homes Partnership

The HBAWMI is proud to partner with KNHS (Kalamazoo Neighborhood Housing Services) and LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) to build quality and attainable homes in Kalamazoo's underserved neighborhoods. This longer-term initiative is called the Kalamazoo Attainable Homes Partnership, KAHP.
Veteran Remodel Project
2019 - 2021
The HBA's Remodelers Council undertook a community project for a local Marine veteran, Timothy Price, in November 2019. Tim began a whole home renovation for his family, when he started to have severe headaches. After a few trips to the ER, the family was informed that Tim had a mass inside his brain and that surgery would be required.
Hospital Hospitality House
2017
The partnership with Hospital Hospitality House blossomed in the Spring of 2015, as the HBA's Community Projects Committee searched for a new venture. Construction work on the first of two new hospitality houses, an 8,500-square-foot abode on Henson Street across from Borgess Medical Center, began in August (2016)...
Fast Built
1992 - 2014
Thank you, to the 100's of volunteers who donated their time and resources to the Fast Built Projects over the years! For 23 years, Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Home Builders Association of Western Michigan worked in partnership with a local family to build the annual Fast Built house.
